Canvassers representing The North-West Air Ambulance were given an induction to the charity and a chance to meet the doctors and paramedics that fly on the aircraft this week. In total 8 canvassers from throughout the region visited the charity as its base on Barton Airfield near The Trafford Centre and spent a very productive few hours discussing the operations and how income from the members they sign up, directly funds the helicopter.
Paramedic Caroline Pearce gave all those present a guided tour of the Eurocopter EC135, minutes before it then flew off on a mission. On that flight was Doctor Simon who had also taken the time to meet all the canvassers and answer any questions they had.
Income from The Lift Off Lotto now accounts for over 50% of the money raised by the charity, generating over £4 million annually. This is a truly remarkable figure and Lottery Manager Kristina Ferguson was quick to thank the canvassers as without them, this wouldn’t have been possible. Income from the lottery is so important, that without it North-West Air Ambulance wouldn’t be able to operate as it does today and have such a positive influence on the people of the region.
