A fundraiser who spends her days asking people to join London’s Air Ambulance Lifesaving Lottery, changed roles over the weekend and took on The Spartan Race in aid of the charity.
Maria Chivers, cheered on by her partner Darryl, finished the race in 1h 46m and raised nearly £1000 for the charity.
“I have never seen hills like them,” said an exhausted Maria afterwards. “It was proper cross country, but I’m delighted to have done it and raised some money for London’s Air Ambulance.”
