The events of recent times would have been unimaginable, at the dawn of 2020.
Coronavirus has changed our nation from a vibrant place of busy shopping streets, crowded pubs and restaurants, and packed sporting venues attended and enjoyed by sports fans from across Europe.
Today, our streets are largely deserted, and those venues have replaced atmosphere with silence.
But the Air Ambulances that Tower works with, are taking to the skies and continuing to save lives daily.
Our committed team of fundraisers can be proud of the contribution they have made in ensuring the continuity of these life-saving services.
That work will resume as soon as possible.
But for the moment, the health, well being and security of our fundraising family is the first priority of Tower.
Our team of Area Managers are tirelessly working to support our fantastic fundraisers, by seeking alternative roles for them for this short-term pause in their amazing work.
However, most importantly they, like the whole Tower team are there to offer every support, at any time, to ensure that we all get through this together.
What is also worthy of note are the wonderful efforts that our Area Managers and Canvassers are offering to their local communities.
Across England, Wales and Scotland, there are countless examples of selfless service.
Amongst the efforts being made by our Area Managers are offering themselves as Responder Volunteers, looking after vulnerable people in their communities with food and medicines, and volunteering to help local charities.
Performing these extra tasks, while being rocks of support for their team members, is truly commendable.
Those canvassers, along with millions of their fellow citizens, have suffered anxiety and fear, both financially and emotionally, as they also seek to care for their families and ensure that they get through this crisis.
From Banff in Scotland, down to Haverfordwest in the South of Wales, across the Midlands, and down to Kent, canvassers have joined local supermarkets in ensuring that their communities are re-stocking food supplies so that families and key workers are getting what they need.
Charities, including the East Anglian Air Ambulance, are seeking to find roles for canvassers with our fantastic NHS teams, adding vital extra support as their services are further stretched over the coming days.
Tower will continue to support every member of the team, in any way it can, over the coming days and weeks and look forward to the hopefully not too distant day, when our heroic team of canvassers are able to resume their service, in support of those air ambulances, who are now also playing such a huge part in this national emergency.
We look forward to the day when all of our lives return to normal, but in the meantime, we give credit to members of the Tower team who are doing their bit for their communities and the nation during this national emergency.
